World Languages

In an ever-changing global landscape, the goal of the World Languages Department is to ensure that our students have the needed skills to communicate with the world.

World Languages fosters the development of communication skills, prioritizes active listening, speaking, reading, and writing for meaningful purposes in culturally authentic contexts, which allows students to graduate from high school with the linguistic and cultural skills to communicate successfully in a global community.

MaCES students must be college and career ready as well as able to succeed in the global community of the 21st century. Language and communication are increasingly essential in today's changing society. The need for all learners to become competent in their ability to communicate with people of other countries and cultures is now more apparent, due to instantaneous world-wide communication networks and an economy that is globally interconnected.

We are proud to offer French and Spanish, and beginning courses.
